INTERNSHIPS AT STUDIO POP 2018
STUDIO POP believes that we are all designers. We are always looking for interns who can commit between 3 to 6 months. We accept European students, fresh graduates and emerging professionals supported by ERASMUS PLUS work placements who are studying architecture, design, urban planning, art, graphic design, cultural management and all creative disciplines.
Experimenters will mainly contribute in the development of creative waste reuse projects through our R&D framework WASTE2DESIGN4SOCIETY.
One of our star project is REPLASTICO2 www.replastico.com, a social plastic fashion focused on eco-design, social innovation and circular economy. It is a unique business of circular design that seeks to inspire creativity and collaborative remaking solutions made of waste such as plastic packaging in order to upcycle in local economies and communities. Students will combine manual and digital activities -digital craft- by experimenting with several industrial waste including plastics, textiles, e-waste, etc. For instance, She/he can design, experiment and reuse HDPE, LDPE and PET plastic waste creating eco-design products through cutting, fusing , sewing, shredding , extrusion, injection and 3D-printing solutions.
Selected experimenters -trainees or students- will get involved, build capacities and learn from the following superpowers:
Research by Design and Regenerative Design
Creative research and sensorial/analytic processes of repurposing waste and commercialise in European/local markets. Market research through open fairs, consultations and exhibitions assist us in targeting end-users, benchmarking trends, and mapping audience development.
R&D and experimentation increase the awareness of the environmental, economic and social challenges in eco-design production through an effective research by design, Life Cycle Assessment and somatic/sensory learning process.
Studio Pop applies human-centre design fundaments (including the UNICEF digital tech design principles) into a constructivist learning process adopting the didactic model Think, Play and Make (TPM) -owned by Studio Pop- in the development of our ongoing projects like REPLASTICO2, DOT TO DOT, PEDAL POWER, 3DFOGTECH and others.
Creative Remanufacturing and Digital Crafting
Experimenters will learn the process of sustainable technologies contributing in the design and remanufacturing process of eco-design products reusing waste creatively.
3 x 3D: Modelling + Drawing + Printing
Experimenters will represent design ideas through 3D modelling. They will assist in delivering high quality technical drawings, diagrams, details, rendering and visualisations, and 3D printing.
Marketing and Dissemination in Events and Social Media
Experimenters will disseminate STUDIO POP’s knowhow and IP/copyright designs and outputs through various media, including publications of articles, news and posts in scientific and professional events, social media, etc.; open labs, fairs and exhibits.
Graphics with Ethics in Design Development
Experimenters will contribute creatively with great content, development and delivery design co-creating a set of representational media via posters, leaflets, flyers, and other art and marketing media.
Open Source and Communication
Experimenters will reinforce and improve design techniques and communication skills through effective team-working in a highly creative, challenging and flexible work environment with a design networks in Europe and overseas.
We are looking for curious, ambitious and creative students who has following skills:
Innovative and collaborative design approach
Integration of manual and digital communication
Independence, self-motivated and confident
Computer literacy in Adobe Suit (Photoshop / Indesign / Illustrator); 3D modelling programmes; AutoCad; etc.
