Stalled Spaces Scotland Toolkit is a wonderful wee book prepared by Architecture & Design Scotland to provide guidance in taking on a stalled spaces project. You will find loads of useful information about the programme, what steps to follow in order to secure a vacant site and how to start your project. Also there is a section for inspirations based on previous projects which explains in detail the components needed to start the project and gives an idea of project scope.
We are pleased to see featuring our lead 'MOBILELAND' project in the toolkit.
Stalled Spaces Scotland was a Legacy 2014 programme commissioned by Scottish Government and delivered by ADS to facilitate temporary activation of vacant sites in town centres throughout Scotland. Its main objectives:
- To encourage and support local authorities and related organisations across Scotland to deliver a stalled spaces initiative in their area.
- To enable communities to transform disused spaces and communicate their aspirations to local authorities in their development.
-To create a learning resource through community involvement.
-To ensure there is legacy from the skills developed.
- To increase skill sharing and provide opportunities for knowledge exchange with both local communities and professionals.
