DON'T MISS ECO-FAIR ON MARCH 17 IN DOT TO DOT MARYHILL STATION!
February 14, 2018
We are delighted to invite you to ECO-FAIR MARYHILL 2018 in DOT TO DOT site. The event is free to join, and we will have few stalls with local social entrepreneurs showcasing their work:
Replastico2 is the first local plastic brand that connects craft design + plastic waste + social network.
We currently live in a culture of waste where everything is discarded. For example, there are 500 billion plastic bags waiting to be reused in the planet. They are not reused, repaired or recovered causing the death of sea animals and making giants floating dumps of non-biodegradable materials in our oceans. In the Pacific Ocean, this dump is characterized by high concentrations of plastic and has a size of 1,400,000 km², twice the surface of Chile, 21.5 times the surface of Lithuania and 17.5 times the surface of Scotland.
The Blankfaces is the UK’s first and only fashion brand aimed at ending homelessness. We work with students from all over different fashion schools in Glasgow who in turn work with the homeless community on creating a clothing brand.
A street brand created by people from the streets.
As well as raising money to change people’s life’s we are also looking to change people’s perceptions on homelessness, to humanize the less fortunate instead of them just becoming another statistic.
On a day to day basis these people are ignored from all walks. Be it from the people that pass by them on the street or the local councils/government who cant house them. They just become another ‘Blankface.’

The pupils from primary six decided that hey want to do more that just to learn about plastic waste. They wanted to take charge, be active, help to inform other and tackle plastic waste in their local community. The result was Remedoo, an exciting project where pupils have researched ways to reuse plastic in interesting ways. They have investigated, designed and made their own products to sell.
