We are thankful for Community Ownership Support Service (COSS) who granted an award to proceed with DOT TO DOT Community Consultation at Eco-fair on 17 March 2018.
DOT TO DOT consultation at Maryhill Station
It is a community-led, experimental and all-ages-friendly event. The aim is to celebrates an eco-fair; develop two surveys (regarding the DOT TO DOT Station and its app/web development); and discuss openly the approved planning permission for a remake station -design station and community garden- located at 636 Maryhill Road site, G20 7ED, Glasgow. DOT TO DOT leads celebrated a public survey (with hardcopies) regarding the digital community development of an app/portal: www.dots.scot
Following surveys and conversations with local organisations, partners and members of the DOT TO DOT Community Consortium, we will collect two surveys: (a) DOT TO DOT Consultation QUESTIONARIES and (b) DOT TO DOT Digital Development Survey Web + App; will conduct an open consultation regarding the design for the remake station (DOT TO DOT Consultation LAYOUT all phases 5 years); and also will establish the constitution of the legal body of our community as “Community Interest Company (CIC) by guarantee”.
As community interest, we also will explore community asset transfer adopting a Community Interest Company (limited by guarantee) model. DOT TO DOT C.I.C. will be a community controlled body with open membership that ensures compliance with the requirements of the Community Empowerment Act, Section V. In doing so, we agreed to make sure that our body is going to recruit at least 20 members with an Articles of Association, which will include arrangements for what happens to the body's assets if it is wound up, to make sure they are passed onto another community or charitable organisation.
The community consultation / eco-fair event is a great opportunity to build capacities; consolidate ongoing projects; and discover a wide variety of local green organisations, entrepreneurs, social businesses and campaigns aligned with sustainable living.
This consultation was deployed through conversations, surveys, display of eco-friendly craft products, citizen demonstrations, live workshops and music, games, and food. It will be a consultation process for the DOT TO DOT framework –remake station and digital marketplace.
